2017年12月7日，首屆“南南人權論壇”在京開幕

　　國家主席習近平為此發來賀信，對論壇的舉辦表示熱烈的祝賀，強調全球人權事業發展離不開廣大發展中國家共同努力，希望國際社會本著公正、公平、開放、包容的精神，尊重并反映發展中國家人民的意愿，促進發展中國家人民享有更加充分的人權，實現全人類共同繁榮發展。他指出，　人人充分享有人權，是人類社會的偉大夢想。近代以來，發展中國家人民為爭取民族解放和國家獨立，獲得自由和平等，享有尊嚴和幸福，實現和平與發展，進行了長期斗爭和努力，為世界人權事業發展作出了重大貢獻。
